For the 4th year in a row we've managed to reach our ultimate goal of not having to turn any kid away!  For the 2017 Build A Bike event that meant giving away 957 bikes!  Over the past two years alone we've given away 1,991 bicycles to underprivileged kids in our community and for the 11 full years that the event has been going we've topped over 7,000 bikes total!!!

It truly is a pinnacle community service project that couldn't happen without the full support of everyone involved.  From the generosity of Bill Morris and the New Hartford Shopping Center, providing us with a home for the program to countless sponsors like Kiwanis Club of Utica, MetLife Foundation, Gilroy Kernan and Gilroy, First Source, the Fountainhead Group among so many others, all the way to groups like Padula Roofing who give us use of their vehicles, hundreds of hours of volunteer time fixing bikes and so much more!  From local police depts and colleges who collect bikes for us, to one of our largest partners, Walmart year in year out, everyone steps up to make sure we have enough bikes for the kids in this community.

Congrats to the entire community and to the Safe Schools Team and especially the man who makes it all happen, Safe Schools very own Build A Bike Coordinator, Dave Buck on another absolutely amazing year!
