Location: Parkway Recreation Center

Hours: 2pm-7pm Tuesday - Saturday starting July 10th - August 10th. 

To Participate: youth must be from Utica ages 13 and older but must be enrolled in the Utica City School District.

The Underground Cafe Teen Center aspires to transform the experiences and perceptions of teens in Utica by creating venues for leadership, civic engagement and creative expression. 

Our programs include the following and all are free to the students and families:


    *After School Program - open to Proctor High School Students everyday school is open - activities include arts, music, dance, life skills and recreation.  There is a Underground Café bus that leaves Proctor High School after school everyday the program is open.

    *School breaks and summer programming - join us for recreation activities, hanging out with friends, use a computer, listen to music and watch movies.  Please call us for hours and days open at (315) 735-1345.

    *Leadership and Resiliency Skills - start now to prepare for college, find a job, challenge yourself with a new activity, meet new friends, or learn to express yourself with art, dance, or music, learn valuable conflict resolution skills, become a leader.

    *Service learning projects - change your community, challenge our leaders, voice your opinions, make a difference in your world, learn about your community and how you an be a change agent!

Be a voice for youth!  Tell us programming you are interested in and work with us to create it!

At our location we have a gymnasium, kitchen, stage for performances, art studio, music/recording studio, game room, computer lab, and an assortment of activities. 

As is true for all our services, the goal is for teens to succeed in school and in life.
